Driving Productivity through Employee Engagement & Consultation
The presentation discussed the success of employee engagement in retaining the workforce, which has resulted in the average length of service of foremen in the company in excess of 20 years, and the techniques used to engage and consult. The related discussion focused on the use of technology to engage in real time feedback during meetings, meetings held employees local to their site, and the opportunity for all employees to engage regularly with CEO and senior management team.
Consolidation, then growth
The presentation discussed a change in strategy which focused on the company’s team development, culture and employee well-being with the aim of attracting and retaining staff who align with the values of the organisation. The related discussion focused on different approaches to recruitment.
Automation of tasks not jobs
The presentation discussed the use of existing technology to digitalise a paper-based process with clear savings in time and an increase in the visibility, and reporting, of faults. The related discussion focused on other paper processes which this could apply to and how existing tools could be used to change these into more streamlined operations.
