South of Scotland

The South of Scotland is the geographic area South of Edinburgh and Glasgow and North of England. The area includes the Scottish Borders and Dumfries and Galloway.

The key economic sectors are:

  • Agriculture, forestry, and fishing
  • Public services
  • Retail, transport, accommodation & food
  • Production

In the South of Scotland, and generally in the wider Scotland, the majority of businesses are SMEs.

The Club in Scotland launched in November 2020 and since then we host monthly on-line events as the South of Scotland Club Talk.

If you are a SME in the area and you have a story to tell on how you improved your productivity/efficiency/competitiveness within your organisation and want to share your case study with other like-minded leaders email Eleonora Vanello at Eleonora.vanello@scdi.org.uk
