North East Scotland

Aberdeenshire is famous for its fishing and farming industries, with Peterhead being the UK port with the largest value of landings and Macduff is the only place in the UK where deep bottomed wooden fishing boats are still built. In farming enough oats grown in the region for 700 million servings of porridge, and it is of course the home of the famous Aberdeen Angus breed of cattle.

Key business areas in the NE include Energy, Digital, Life Sciences, Food, Drink and Agriculture.

From start-ups and SMEs to international corporations, this region boasts an environment in which businesses can thrive.

Productivity Club was launched in the North East in 2020. We currently host monthly online events as part of the North East Club Talk.

If you are a SME in the area and you have a story to tell on how you improved your productivity/efficiency/competitiveness within your organisation and want to share your case study with other like-minded leaders email Gail Cleaver at gail.cleaver@scdi.org.uk or Eleonora Vanello at Eleonora.vanello@scdi.org.uk
